Anton Solo Competition Winer (Posted 01/23)

We are pleased to announce that Katie McCormack is the winner of the 2010 Anton Solo Competition. Her selection was "Concerto in A Minor" by J. S. Bach; she will be featured violin soloist at our Spring Concert at the Paramount Theater. Congratulations to runners-up Maddie Kincaid, viola, and Ellen Bevier, trumpet. Our adjudicators felt that all performers were well-prepared and played admirably. Bravo!

Program Ad Solicitation (Posted 10/26)

This week we are starting our solicitation of potential advertisers for our annual program booklet. Last year we had 32 advertisers. If each of our families were to solicit one additional ad, we could easily double that number. Please help! Advertising pays for the cost of our program booklet and assists us with scholarship funding. Our program ad form is available on the website; we will also have printed forms available at rehearsals. Watch for an e-mail announcement about how you can help! Sponsor forms are also on-line.

The Dorset Players have asked us to invite all to a benefit concert on Saturday, October 3rd. We have posted some details.

Although we try to post the latest news on the web-site regularly, some parents reported they liked receiving this week's e-mail reminder. We'll give weekly e-mail announcements a try. Scholarship Aid (Posted 9/10)

Scholarship aid is available for our musicians. Also, The Hayes Foundation continues its generous support of our Rutland County residents. We have posted their application form. Hayes applications must be submitted to our office for review and submission to the Hayes Foundation.

Welcome Packets and Member Data (Posted 8/30)

Welcome packets have been mailed to all of last year's musicians. If you do not receive one, please let us know. Please review the member data carefully and update any incomplete or missing information, and return it with your contract and tuition payment.

Now is the time to ensure a strong program! Please spread the word and help us recruit new musicians. Informal visits are welcome any time; placement auditions are scheduled for our first two rehearsals.

New Schedule and Placement auditions (Posted 7/10)

Our tentative schedule for the new year has been posted. We welcome prospective new students to audition for placement at our first rehearsals or first thing in the morning at our Kinhaven Retreat.
